Hans Seesaghur of Mauritius, who previously studied at Wuhan University, recently sent a video to the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to voice his support for Wuhan and China.

Seesaghur said that in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, people from China and other countries have been gathering regularly to express their best wishes for China.

The 36-year-old, who currently resides in his home country, said that Wuhan had provided him with many memories, experiences and friends, and that he regarded the city as his second home.

He also believes that Wuhan and China will soon fully recover from the COVID-19 outbreak due to the joint efforts of various sectors in society.

"When talking of China, most expats may only know Beijing and Shanghai. But I told them in Central China, there is Wuhan, a city that is big, beautiful and important," said Seesaghur, who studied at Wuhan University for 12 years since 2004.

He currently manages the representative office of the Economic Development Board of Mauritius in Shanghai which helps businesses from both nations explore each other's markets.

Seesaghur said that he often took buses during his years in Wuhan to enjoy the city's beauty and meet with its friendly residents. He had even opened a restaurant together with two expat friends.

Seesaghur's sister, who was offered a scholarship to study medicine from the Chinese government, also studied at Wuhan University in 1999. The siblings both enjoy re-gan-mian, a local Wuhan noodle with sesame sauce, and speaking Mandarin.
