BEIJING - Yanqing is one of the competition areas for Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

To reduce the impact of epidemic, Yanqing has taken several measures to encourage sustainable development of winter sports industry in its region.

According to the policy issued, Yanqing District will provide subsidies for the enterprises' water and electricity consumption and the maintenance cost of enterprises, with legal business qualifications and open to the society, during the period of business suspension.

The subsidy standard is 50 percent of the difference between the 2019 and 2020 and the 2018 to 2019 snow season.

Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort is a winter sports enterprise with a history of more than 20 years in Yanqing. Due to the closure, the whole operation season of the ski resort has been shortened from 101 days to 63 days.

According to the statistics of ski resorts, the revenue of Vanke Shijinglong ski resort in this snow season decreased by about 11 million yuan ($1.65 million), facing the dilemma of capital chain breaking and unable to continue normal operation.

In the most difficult time for the enterprise, Yanqing District provides the enterprise with the subsidy for business losses on the basis of water and electricity subsidies for ski resorts in Beijing, helping enterprises to tide over difficulties and lay a solid foundation for the resumption of work in the next snow season.

As of February 28, three other winter sports enterprises in Yanqing District have completed the subsidy application. After the approval, the subsidy funds will be distributed to relevant enterprises by Yanqing District Sports Bureau soon.
