Sevilla confirm sale of defender Carrico to Chinese side Wuhan Zall
MADRID - Spanish La Liga Santander club Sevilla on Thursday confirmed they have sold experienced central defender Daniel Carrico to Chinese Super League club Wuhan Zall FC.
The move ends a spell of six and a half seasons that Carrico has spent with Sevilla, whom he joined from English side Reading in the summer of 2013.
The defender made a total of 167 appearances for the club, including 111 in the Liga Santander and 41 in the Europa League during that period, scoring seven goals.
This season has seen him make 11 league appearances and play one game in Europe, while his time at the club saw him form part of a squad that won the Europa League for three consecutive seasons between 2014 and 2016.
Sevilla posted a message on the club's official website, thanking Carrico for his "dedication", while wishing him the "very best of luck as he embarks on his new challenge."
The club also announced it was preparing a "well-deserved send-off" in the coming days.
