Representatives from physical education sector, investment companies and high-tech enterprises discussed how to use technology to improve engagement and learning outcomes in quality fitness programs and further develop China's sports industry at a summit in Beijing.

Initiated by East Star, China's major basketball training program provider, the event aims to summarize current trends in physical education and work out an effective solution for younger generations to maintain fitness via better teamwork of the industry practitioners who cover various aspects including operation of sports venues, production of intelligent sports facilities, nutrition supply and sports training.

To better serve children aged from three to eight, East Star has launched a smart sports venue featuring big data technology, online-to-offline mode and qualified physical education curricula, enabling users to have an immersive interactive experience at the venue and spark their interest in playing basketball.

Jin Xing, CEO of the basketball training program provider, said that they should not only apply technology in designing new physical education products, but also attach great importance to improving children's personality through well-rounded physical education.

The summit concluded on Dec 18.
