Experience Anish Kapoor's art in Beijing
In early December, A-list Chinese actress Zhou Xun released a set of photos she shot for the fashion magazine Vision, in which she posed beside British artist Anish Kapoor's giant installations at the CAFA Art Museum, setting social media abuzz over the exhibition.
Unveiled in late October, the internationally sought-after artist's first China solo is all the rage in the Chinese capital, attracting "at least 4,000 people each day" according to a staff member with the CAFA Art Museum, which co-hosts the show with the Taimiao Art Museum.
CAFA features four of the artist's monumental installations in lavish red hues; the Taimiao show presents a number of giant stainless steel sculptures in the form of concave and convex mirrors that warp the surroundings of the ancient site.
The CAFA exhibition runs through Jan 1, while the Taimaio show will be on view until Dec 28.
