Treasures from China's Shenyang Palace Museum on Tuesday met visitors in Seoul at the National Palace Museum of Korea, telling stories about the rise of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

The special exhibition presented 123 pieces of precious items from the Shenyang Palace Museum, including imperial weaponry, clothing and daily goods used by the founding emperors, as well as decorative objects and jewelry from the golden age of the Qing Dynasty.

Its aim is to illustrate the significant position of the imperial palace in Shenyang within the dynasty, providing visitors with a chance to retrace the rise and expansion of the Manchu empire.

The exhibition will last until March 1, 2020.

Li Shengneng, the curator of Shenyang Palace Museum, said the museum attaches great significance to deepening exchange and cooperation with its global counterparts, in a bid to promote cultural communication.

A signing ceremony between the two museums was also held on the same day before the exhibition opened. The National Palace Museum of Korea, as agreed, will present imperial treasures of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) in Shenyang next September.
