China wins women's singles title at ITTF World Tour in Bulgaria

SOFIA - China's Chen Xingtong won the women's singles title on Sunday afternoon at the 2019 ITTF World Tour Asarel Bulgaria Open in the town of Panagyurishte.

In the final match, Chen defeated her compatriot He Zhuojia 11-4, 7-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-4.

In the semifinals early on Sunday, 11th seed Chen beat second seed Mima Ito of Japan, and at the round of 16 on Friday defeated another strong Japanese -- third seed Miu Hirano.

In the men's single final, top seed Tomokazu Harimoto of Japan beat China's qualifier Zhao Zihao 11-6, 12-14, 11-5, 13-11, 13-15, 11-4.

On Saturday, China's pair Gu Yuting/Mu Zi won the women's doubles title, while their compatriots Ma Te/Wu Yang lost the mixed doubles final.
