Combining forces

The 32-hour overnight exercises marked the intense opening stages of a series of exercises conducted by the Chinese People's Armed Police Force and the Kyrgyz National Guard.
The joint maneuvers were based on the premise that a group of armed international terrorists had taken over a village 30 kilometers away from the Chinese border by stealth and were planning to carry out a multipronged terrorist attack. The scenario saw the group team up with foreign terrorist organizations and their Kyrgyz accomplices before leaving the desert hinterland to launch a combined terror attack.
In response, the Chinese armed police "Mountain Eagle" commando team and the Kyrgyz National Guard "Black Panther" special brigade completed first-level war preparations at the scene by establishing an anti-terrorism command post and joint battle formations.
