At last, the Wuhan Children's Hospital decided to employ a medical rescue helicopter to transport the sick baby. It carries a ventilator, infusion pump, ECG monitor and many other medical devices and the trip to Enshi would only take two hours.

The transfer was originally scheduled for Wednesday but unfavorable weather conditions hindered the helicopter's takeoff. Rainy season has been upon Hubei and massive rainfalls have affected many parts of the province. Mountain ranges on the flight path have been shrouded in heavy mists and clouds, posing a high risk to the safety of the flight.

On Friday, Xiaoen's condition deteriorated again. There was not much time left to wait and a new plan was proposed.
