China's power generation up 3.3% in first five months

BEIJING - China's power generation grew 3.3 percent year-on-year to 2.8 trillion kilowatt hours in the first five months of 2019, official data showed Friday.

In May alone, power generation rose 0.2 percent from one year earlier to 558.9 billion kilowatt hours, down 3.6 percentage points from April, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
