100-day countdown to China's 10th National Paralympic Games


TIANJIN -- The ceremony of 100-day countdown to China's 10th National Paralympic Games, which will also function as the 7th National Special Olympics, was held in Tianjin on Sunday.
This will be the first time that two major competitions will be staged in the same city of Tianjin. The games to kick off on August 25, 2019 also include mass events.
Meanwhile, it's the top-level and most influential games for the disabled with the largest number of athletes and events to be held in Tianjin.
Lei Yingjun, deputy secretary general of the preparatory committee and the director of Tianjin Paralympic Federation noted that the Paralympic Games and Special Olympics has 43 events, including 19 summer events and six winter events, nine of mass games for the disabled and nine for Special Olympics.
Some events have been in progress before the official opening of the Paralympic Games, and its preparation is going smoothly.
Wang Jun, discus champion in Beijing Paralympics and shot put champion in Rio Paralympics, said the disabled athletes have to work even harder compared with ordinary ones, and I wish them to achieve good results in the oncoming games.
