In the mixed doubles, Americans Sarah Anderson and Korey Dropkin edged past Laura Walker and Kirk Muyres of Canada to win 8-7, and later beat hosts Cao Chang and Yuan Mingjie 13-4. The Chinese mixed doubles players earlier took a 9-7 victory over 2018 world champions Michele Jaeggi and Sven Michel of Switzerland.

"We felt better of the venue and the competition than yesterday. Our goal is to try best in every game and learn from the others," Cao Chang said.
