Chinese and Belgian vocal artists dazzled an audience in Brussels on Tuesday night at the Second Edition China-EU Arts Dialogue: Vocal Music.

The concert was part of the 2019 China Arts Festival in the European Union, which has been staged at the China Cultural Center in Brussels.

The vocal artists from China and Belgium performed 15 pieces from Chinese and Western operas, including the well-known Mongolian folk song Swan Goose and the classic Nessun Dorma from the opera Turandot. Each was warmly received by the audience.

"I find it a really good initiative to bring the people together," said Jacques Bouche, a member of the audience who is also studying Chinese. "Having European songs and Chinese lyrics gives possibilities for people to know each other better. If we know each other better, we would not be afraid of each other. So, we not only need to study language, but the culture, music, everything."
