Digitial exhibition of Forbidden City landmark set to tour the country

A touring digital exhibition of a former emperors' residence is to kick off in late April,the Beijing's Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, and Shenzhen-based cultural company Artron, announced on Friday.

The exhibition will use virtual reality, and artificial intelligence among many other technologies to better introduce the fruits of academic research on the Hall of Mental Cultivation to the public by digitally showcasing the abundant collection of cultural relics in the place and offer interactive experiences to visitors.

The hall, or Yangxin Dian, built in the mid-16th century during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644),or Yangxin Dian, was also the residence of last eight emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). And it is one of the most important buildings in the Forbidden City, which was China's imperial palace from 1420 to 1911.
