Nationwide traffic management hotline launched
The Ministry of Public Security has launched the hotline 12123 for traffic management. The hotline provides voice services to the public, including traffic management consulting and information inquiries, said Li Jiangping, deputy director of the Traffic Management Bureau of the ministry during a news conference on Wednesday.
With the aim of offering convenience to the public and improving services, the ministry started a series of reforms since 2018, and the 12123 hotline is one of the latest measures launched this year.
"The hotline has been launched nationwide, and other new measures, including a new policy on applying for a driver's license for compact cars. Temporary license plates can be issued by motor vehicle sales enterprises to simplify vehicle registration procedures. The policy will be implemented from June 1," Li said.
"The new policy on applying for driver's licenses allows applicants to apply for licenses at any place in the country with their ID cards, instead of submitting residence registration certificates. Another reform for driver's license applicants is that they may change the examination venue if they changed their place of residence," Li added.
The Ministry of Public Security called on all regions of the country to set the stage to accelerate comprehensive implementation of the new policies.
