Police arrest 13-year-old in connection with his mother's death

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested Tuesday for allegedly killing his mother, in Yancheng city, Jiangsu province.
According to police in Jianhu county, a female body was found at her home Monday morning.
Police launched an investigation and arrested a suspect – the deceased's son.
The 13-year-old, surnamed Shao, confessed that he killed his 37-year-old mother, surnamed Yang, during a confrontation Saturday night.
It is alleged that Shao killed his mother with a kitchen knife, before going on the run, when police discovered him, Beijing Youth Daily reported.
The paper's report also quoted neighbors saying the boy had a strict upbringing.
The case is still under investigation.
