China and the United States will hold trade talks at the vice-ministerial level on Jan 7 and 8 in Beijing, said China's Ministry of Commerce on Friday.

A US delegation, led by Deputy US Trade Representative Jeffrey D. Gerrish, will visit Beijing next Monday and Tuesday to negotiate with Chinese officials on trade issues, according to the Commerce Ministry's announcement.

The two sides will conduct constructive discussions on implementing the important consensus reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Buenos Aires on Dec 1.

The two leaders have agreed to continue trade negotiations, stop the imposition of new tariffs and exchange visits at an appropriate time. Since then, frequent conversations on trade issues have been conducted.
