Kong Zhenlan, a 70-year-old woman in Qixian county, Shanxi province, first adopted an abandoned child in the 1970s. Since then, she and her husband have taken in and brought up over 40 disabled and abandoned children.

Though Kong herself suffers from a disability, the children she has adopted have grown up healthy under her attentive care, with some of them being able to live independently.

Now with the support and help of more caring people, Kong's life is getting better and better.
