Fujian end Beijing's 13-game winning streak

BEIJING -- Fujian produced a strong fourth-quarter comeback in the 20th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Sunday, rallying to beat Beijing 83-76 at home to claim their third-straight victory.

Fujian found their form just in time and hammered Beijing 24-10 in the last quarter. The victory also sees they snapped Beijing's 13-game winning streak.

Wang Zhelin dominated the painted area and contributed a double-double performance with 18 points, of which 14 came in the second half, and 18 rebounds. Chen Linjian added a game-high 19 points for Fujian.

Beijing started the game 9-1 with solid defense especially against Wang, who had scored over 30 points in three of the last four games. The hosts tried fruitlessly for more than five minutes before making a field goal.

Zhu Yanxi had a team-high 17 points for Beijing, Justin Hamilton and Zhai Xiaochuan also scored double-digit with 16 and 14 respectively.

Beijing led by 42-33 into the second half. But Fujian set out to turn things around with Wang waking up and Chen on fire. Both of them pocketed double digits in the third quarter to pace Fujian cut the deficits to 59-66 before the last quarter.

Beijing failed to score any field point during the first five minutes. With Wang splitting Beijing's double-team, Fujian reclaimed the lead 72-71 with less than four minutes left.

As Beijing couldn't find any effective way to attack, Fujian sealed the victory after Tian Guisen made a slam dunk.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Sichuan beat Aolong 95-84, putting their 13-game losing streak to an end. Bayi lost to Tianjin 88-97, Guangzhou overcame Shanghai 117-111, Zhejiang lost to Shenzhen 107-111, and Xinjiang trounced Shanxi 114-101.
