Exhibition pays tribute to ink-art revolutionary

Four Stanzas of Aspiration, an exhibition at the Central Academy of Fine Arts' museum, which runs through Jan 3, charts the development of Li's ink art exploration by bringing together dozens of his paintings from the collections of several public museums and his family.[Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

A number of works in his oeuvre are portraits of farmers and workers.

Also on show are night-view landscapes which reflect Li's efforts to bring about a luminous effect using the Chinese ink-water approach.
