Young Chinese females embrace second-hand shopping

Second-hand shopping online ranks second only to cross-border e-commerce in terms of target market index (TGI) among young Chinese female consumers aged under 24, according to a survey report recently released by QuestMobile, a Chinese big data service provider.
Statistics provided by Zhuanzhuan, a pre-owned products trading platform, show that the 109 million under 24-year-olds account for 37 percent of all female users of its trading platform.
Dresses, youth literature and T-shirts top the second-hand shopping list of the group which is mainly comprised of students and white-collar workers, said a data analyst at Zhuanzhuan.
Apart from buying cut-price goods, the group also sell items they no longer need on online second-hand markets. Statistics show that half of the female Zhuanzhuan users under the age of 24 have sold unused goods on the platform.
