Guangdong end Shandong's three-game CBA winning streak
BEIJING -- Clarence Weems scored a game-high 32 points to help Guangdong smash Shandong's three game winning streak in 120-96 at Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Tuesday.
Guangdong, which had five players scoring double digits, had a tough start at the very beginning of the match, but former NBA player Yi Jianlian and Zhao Rui helped the CBA powerhouses catch up quickly with three-pointers.
From the second quarter, Guangdong strengthened its attack and enlarged the advantage to double digits. Although Shandong fought back in the third quarter to narrow the gap to eight points, the home team still couldn't turn the disadvantage.
In this game, Yi Jianlian became the second CBA player scoring over 10,000 points in career after adding 19 points and 15 rebounds. Andrew Goudelock of Shandong contributed 24 points.
Other matches on Tuesday, Bayi lost to Fujian 81-103, Tongxi beat Tianjin 121-109, Liaoning downed Aolong 139-122, Shanxi defeated Qingdao 120-109, Sichuan upset Shenzhen 121-115, Zhejiang beat Jilin 116-103.
