Leading startup companies shortlisted at Shengjing Global Innovation Awards
The winning startup companies were revealed at the end of the Top Ten Competition of the Shengjing Global Innovation Awards, which was held in Beijing on Wednesday.
The innovation awards were initiated by Shengjing 360 in 2015 to discover and encourage innovative projects and startup teams, especially in China, the United States and Israel, and has been held every year since.
The competition has developed into the most globally-influential innovation and startup event initiated by a Chinese company. Its sponsor, Beijing Shengjingjiacheng Investment Management, is a global venture capital fund that is looking to develop a platform to promote global vision and innovation.
The completed Top Ten Competition is a preliminary-stage selection, mainly targeting companies at or before B-round financing, with the aim of finding and encouraging promising startups in areas like health, frontier technologies, new energy and materials.
The competition invited experienced investors from leading investment organizations, such as Hillhouse Capital and Shengjing, as panel judges.
The top five winners, including SeekIn, a startup focusing on the early diagnosis of blood-based cancer, automatically qualified as candidates for this year's Global Top 20 Competition, according to the organizer.
The awards ceremony of the Global Top 20 Competition will be held in Beijing in early November as part of the Zhongguancun International Startup Festival.
