Huawei relocates R&D staff to Dongguan campus

Chinese phone maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd has been moving R&D staff from its Shenzhen headquarters to a new campus in the neighboring city of Dongguan since July. Thousands of people have relocated so far and another round of resettlement is expected by the end of this year.
The campus, named Xiliubeipo Village, is located on the shore of Songshan Lake in Dongguan, a one-hour drive away from Huawei's current headquarters. It is expected to provide offices for 25,000 R&D employees.
The whole zone, which covers a floor area of 1.4 million square meters, is designed after 12 renowned locations in European countries and linked together by a 7.8-kilometer commuter rail system.
The garden-like working space only allows visits from Huawei clients, employees and their relatives.
