Chongqing lady claims gold at radio orienteering world contest

Back in 1980s, this sport was very popular in China when many cities set up their teams. The Chongqing team selected Deng, thanks to her outstanding athletic abilities, but she quit the sport after two years to focus on study.

About three decades later, in 2016, Deng happened to learn about a national ARDF tournament for senior players in Chengdu, Sichuan province, and she decided to return to the field.

To her surprise, Deng won the gold in the 50 and above age group. Later, she began to participate in more national games in the 35 and above age group, since there were few senior players competing in matches.
