Editor's note: In this year's back-to-school season, many freshmen who were born in the 21st century, known as Generation Z, will start their college life. How will this generation initiate the new stage of life? Follow China Daily app’s reports to find out.

College freshmen usually carry suitcases full of clothes, quilts and other necessities when registering for school. But now, in a number of universities, this is no longer the case.

With the start of the school season this year, the Generation Z is coming to university nearly empty-handed — because their daily necessities are already delivered in parcels.

Instead of carrying their luggage by themselves, these students chose to deliver their luggage directly to the courier station of the university.

They can get their parcels with a pick-up code. After taking photos and getting the code scanned, they can leave through an intelligent gate.

"It only takes 10 seconds to find the package and get out of the courier station," said one freshman in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.
