Andy confirms Beijing entry

Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray on Tuesday confirmed his entry in the China Open, Asia's biggest combined tournament, which takes place Sept 23-Oct 7 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing.

Murray, the 2016 winner of the ATP 500 tournament, will be making his fourth appearance of the season after returning from a hip injury that sidelined him for over a year.

Murray's career tally of 45 singles titles includes a pair of victories at Wimbledon, in 2013 and 2016, and the US Open in 2012.

Joining the 31-year-old Scot in this year's draw are 17-time major winner and defending champion Rafael Nadal, 2009 US Open titlist Juan Martin del Potro and current world No 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany.
