Then, Jaeger-LeCoultre set up the Glory to the Filmmaker Award at the festival.

Now, every year the company gives the prize to a member of the film industry "with values of creation, savior faire, and people who we feel close to as well," says Millereau.

And this year Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the award to the SIFF, which was awarded to Joan Chen.

The 56-year old, who played a deaf mute girl in the 1977 film Youth, has since become an international award-winning actress and director.

Speaking after receiving the award, Chen tells about what it takes to create a movie, and how emotionally wrenching it can be.

As for Millereau, he says: "We are very proud to give the prize to her, and we will continue to give this award every year."

Watchmaking and moviemaking are very similar, he says, adding that both share the same dynamic, where all the technique and knowledge are meant to create not only a product, but an emotion.
