Over 11 kg of drugs seized in Yunnan

KUNMING - Police in Southwest China's Yunnan province caught two suspects for trafficking 11.5 kg of methamphetamine and heroin, local authorities said Wednesday.
Police in Menglian, Yunnan, received information that several people were planning to transport drugs from Myanmar into China in early May.
Police intercepted two suspects on May 15 in Lancang county and seized 16 bags of drugs in their vehicle.
Further investigation is underway.
Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for drug production and trafficking.
