KUNMING - Two suspects were detained for smuggling and transporting 18 kg of drugs in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, police in Dali city of Yunnan province said Tuesday.
Dali police in Yunnan, a major front in China's battle against drug crime, received a report of a man planning to purchase drugs overseas and sell them on the Chinese mainland.
An investigation located the suspect in Chongqing. In early May, Dali police travelled to Chongqing. In a joint operation with local police, they captured the suspect and his accomplice, seizing more than 18 kg of drugs from a SUV car.
The investigation is ongoing.
