Pampering pets: Cakes, spa and hotels

With people's increasing income, consumption upgrading, emotional need for company, more people are becoming pet lovers and owners. Previously, people kept dogs and cats as pets, but now they keep pigs, rats, spiders, lizards...

Besides daily necessities such as food, clothes and toys, some luxury pet shops, hospitals and hotels have also sprung up. Some owners are even willing to spend big on pet burial.

According to the National Statistics Bureau, China is on its way to becoming the third-largest pet market after the United States and Japan. From 2010 to 2016, the local market grew by almost 50 percent annually on average.
