State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company has come out with a new power installation service policy that can help small businesses reduce costs and improve efficiency.

"The number of steps to get access to power has been reduced from six to three, and now users can finish all the procedures through a mobile phone without going to the service center in person for three to five times as before," said Wei Yanping, deputy director of the marketing department of the company.

Since the launch of the service policy for low-voltage power users on Feb 8, the company has installed low-voltage facilities for 888 small businesses and other users, who on average got access to power within three working days from informing the company of their electricity needs, according to Wei.

"We raised the low-voltage power capacity limit to 160kW in accordance with electricity demands of small businesses, ensuring that the majority of small businesses could benefit from of our new service policy," said Wang Ziqian, a customer manager of the company.

According to Wei, the company aims to make related procedures simpler and more convenient for small businesses as well as other low-voltage power users, in line with the Beijing municipal government's call for optimizing the local business environment.

On March 18, Beijing Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce, together with Beijing Municipal Office of the State Administration of Taxation, Beijing Local Taxation Bureau and Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, announced a series of measures to improve the city's business environment.

Under the plan, relevant departments will take synergized measures to improve the efficiency of business registration, and the whole registration process will be shortened to five days by the end of March.
