Wozniacki beats Halep to win Australian Open women's singles title

MELBOURNE - Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark claimed her first Grand Slam title after beating top seed Simona Halep from Romania 7-6 (7/2), 3-6, 6-4 in the Australian Open women's singles final here on Saturday.
Wozniacki, who will take over as world No 1, secured the win in two hours 49 minutes in Rod Laver Arena.
