International organization expects President Xi's global outlook

Ricardo Melendez-Ortiz, chief executive of International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development based in Geneva says President Xi Jinping's visit to Switzerland happens against dramatic changes of global governance in the past two years. He is looking forward to Xi sharing his thoughts and plans on improving the global situation
Melendez-Ortiza has been concerned that the rising difficulties emerging in 2016 in geopolitical, environment and global governance areas while the political debates are worrying.
But he says in 2005, the global governance has achieved successes after reaping Paris Climate Change Agreement in late 2015, the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in September in the same year and some progress in multilateral trade talks.
"It seemed that year 2015 had seen impressive successes in global governance but the political debates in 2016 worldwide have lead to the challenges (of protectionism, isolationism, nationalism) we face right now," says Melendez-Ortiz.
