The 2,093 entries for the Olympic equestrian jumping fence design competition will be short-listed to 60, the organizers said Monday.

Among the entries received between November 27, 2006 and February 28, 2007, 1,740 are in the junior category (under 16), 270 the senior category (16 or above) and the rest in the professional (existing design school students and those engaged in design-related work).

The selected works are expected to be displayed in a Hong Kong park on March 27 to mark the 500-day countdown to the 2008 Olympic Games.

Cash prices of 10,000, 8,000 and 5,000 HK dollars will be awarded to the winners of each category, it was announced.
