(BOCOG)
Updated: 2007-02-17 11:03

Spectators need not worry about how to obtain information during the Games as information booths and toll-free hotlines will be made available, declared an official of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).

Xiang Ping, vice-director of the BOCOG Games Service Department, said over 50 information booths will open in the city's central area and at the major scenic spots during the Games. Each will be staffed with two or three volunteers, who will provide general information on transportation, eating out, shopping and entertainment in Chinese, English and French.

Those who speak a language other than the three mentioned above or who don't find a booth in their vicinity can dial the toll-free hotline 12308, whose staff will number no less than 350 employees.

The booths located inside the Olympic venues will offer detailed information on the schedule of events, the location distribution of the venues, bus and subway links, shuttle schedules, etc.

In addition, BOCOG will publish a "Spectators' Guide for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games", as well as a "Guide to the Barrier-Free Services of the Games". Visitors will receive the manuals for free on buying their entrance ticket.
