Chinese Xing, Japanese Oikawa split 100m golds

Chinese sprinter Xing Aihua and Japanese Yuya Oikawa clinched the women's and men's 100m speedskating titles here on Wednesday at the 6th Asian Winter Games.

Xing brought in China the four speedskating gold here, winning in 10.41 seconds in the 100m which was added to the Games program for the first time.

Oikawa became the second Japanese to triumph in the speedskating event here in 9.59 seconds.

Wang Beixing, the 500m winner Tuesday, added a silver to her name in 10.44 while World Cup multi-titlist Lee Sang-Hwa of South Korea settled for the third in 10.59.

Yu Fengtong also gave China a silver in the men's competition in 9.68 and 500m champion Lee Kang-Seok of South Korea was third in 9.69.
