Some Taiwan-invested enterprises have been selected by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) as sponsors and franchise enterprises, said a mainland official on Wednesday.

The BOCOG always holds a fair attitude for both mainland and Taiwan-invested enterprises when selecting sponsors and franchise enterprises for the Beijing Olympic Games, said Li Weiyi, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

The standards and procedures of selecting sponsors and franchise enterprises for the Beijing Olympic Games were publicized through the media and the BOCOG's official website when starting the BOCOG's marketing plan and franchise plan.

During the process of selecting sponsors and franchise enterprises, the BOCOG always receives supervision from relevant departments and hears opinions from experts, industrial associations and administrative departments, Li said.

The procedures are in line with the Olympic commercial policies and are similar to what the organizing committees of the previous Olympic Games did, he said.

Currently, some Taiwan-invested enterprises have been selected as sponsors or franchise enterprises for the Beijing Olympic Games, said Li. But he did not detail the names.
