1,800 volunteers needed for equestrian event(CRIENGLISH.com)Updated: 2006-11-16 17:29 Some 1,800 volunteers will work at the equestrian event of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, which will be held in Hong Kong. Patrick Ho, secretary for Home Affairs of the Hong Kong SAR and executive vice president of the Olympic equestrian committee, said volunteer recruiting for the Olympic equestrian event will be launched next week. Local citizens in Hong Kong are expected to comprise the majority of the volunteer team. They will provide services in transportation, guest reception, language translation, cultural activity support and other areas. The recruitment work is divided into three stages and will be completed by the end of 2007. Information on recruitment will be published on the official website of the Olympic equestrian committee next week. |
