BOCOG, HK sign marketing pact

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and the Hong Kong Olympic Committee signed an agreement on Joint Marketing Program on Tuesday.

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and the Hong Kong Olympic Committee signed an agreement on Joint Marketing Program October 24,2006.[BOCOG]

BOCOG President Liu Qi and International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge attended the signing ceremony in Beijing.

In accordance with Olympic marketing practices and regulations, BOCOG and the Hong Kong Olympic Committee signed the agreement in the spirit of mutual respect and close cooperation, which allows the two sides to engage in Olympic marketing in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, co-host city and venue of equestrian events in the 2008 Olympic Games.

On behalf of the BOCOG, Hong Kong Olympic Committee and IOC, Beijing Vice Mayor and BOCOG Executive Vice President Liu Jingmin, Hong Kong Olympic Committee President Timothy Fok and Chairman of IOC Coordination Commission for the 29th Olympiad Hein Verbruggen signed the agreement respectively.

Also present were IOC Marketing Commission Chairman Gerhard Heiberg, IOC Director-General Urs Lacotte and other officials of the organizations concerned.
