MONTREAL, July 25 - Jessica Hardy of the United States set a world record of one minute 06.20 seconds in the semi-finals of the women's 100 metres breaststroke at the world championships on Monday.

Hardy clipped 0.17 seconds off the previous mark of 1:06.37 set by Australia's Leisel Jones at the 2003 world championships in Barcelona.
