The good fight: When the world joined hands to defeat Fascism

The flames of the World War II burned over four continents, covering the land of more than 20 million square kilometers. Two billion people from 80 countries and regions were involved in the war and more than 70 million died. The war witnessed unprecedented cruelty of Fascism and militarism.

"Right at 24 o'clock, we walked into the hall and the day of May 9, 1945 began," Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov wrote in his autobiography "Remembrances and Contemplations". Twenty minutes later, German General Keitel signed a surrender document at Soviet headquarters in Berlin to the representatives of Soviet Union, the United States, Britain and France.

While in the Far East, Xiangxi battle, the final massive campaign between China and Japan had just started and the American troops were also ready to launch the fight against Japan in Okinawa. Three months later, the signing of Japanese Instrument of Surrender took place on the deck of USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945, marking the end of World War II.

Today we commemorate, but to commemorate is not only to celebrate the victory and remember our heroes, but also to reflect on history and let justice prevail. Seventy years have passed, but has the door of war fully closed?
