HANOI -- The Vietnam-China Mid-Autumn Festival 2010 opened here on Friday.
The festival, co-organized by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, China's Yunnan Nationalities Museum and the Yunnan Institute of Chinese Opera, drew thousands of Vietnamese people, especially children.

The festival also provided a chance for visitors to discover the similarities and differences between Vietnamese and Chinese cultures, said Hung.
Vietnamese craftsmen and artists brought to the festival Vietnamese traditional activities like lion dance, water puppet, Vietnamese opera and lantern making.
At the festival, craftsmen and artists from China's Yunnan province held various activities like performing Chinese opera, demonstrating art of paper-cutting, painting Chinese opera masks, and making lanterns.
Especially, visitors had a chance to savor Pu'er tea served by people from Yunnan province during the festival.
The festival is scheduled to last till September 19.
