2 police injured in attack in Turkey

ISTANBUL - Turkey's state-run news agency says two police officers have been injured in a bomb attack on a police vehicle in Istanbul.

The Anatolia agency says the bomb went off in the Kucukcekmece district, on the outskirts of the city, as the vehicle was passing.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility but Kurdish rebels have carried out similar attacks on police in the past.

Radical leftist and Islamic groups also operate in the city.
