Davos -- Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said Thursday that his country is aiming for "free, fair, transparent and peaceful" parliamentary elections slated for February 18, which will be held under the clouds of the recent assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

"We must go for the February elections that must be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful, and to ensure a stable government ... to be able to sustain the economic growth," Musharraf told a session at the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting.
