Tsinghua's Wang Yu to hold national flag at opening

SHENZHEN, South China - Tsinghua University's high jumper Wang Yu was selected to hold the national flag for the Chinese delegation at the opening ceromony of the 26th World Summer University Games at Shenzhen, officials told Xinhua on Thursday night.

Wang, who will turn 20 in a week, represented the Chinese student athletes to receive the national flag from Hao Ping, the leader of the Chinese delegation, when the team was formed up at Beijing on August 1.

His best mark was 2.28 meters and was the national champion when he was in the middle school.
