Updated: 2009-01-13 10:59 WASHINGTON - Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady will miss at least two more weeks of the National Basketball Association season with a left knee injury, the team announced Monday.
McGrady has missed 11 games and played only sporadically for the Rockets over the past months because of his sore left knee. He was sidelined for Houston's triumph over new York last Saturday. The Rockets, 24-15, play seven games in the next two weeks, including home games against the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami, Denver and Utah and road games at Indiana, Detroit and New York. That could set the stage for a McGrady return at home on January 28 against Philadelphia. McGrady, who turns 30 in May, is averaging 15.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 28 games. Those are his worst showings since the 1999-2000 season. The Rockets, who have split their past 10 games, are 12-4 at home and 12-11 on the road, third in the Southwest division between San Antonio and New Orleans and sixth overall in the Western Conference. Chinese center Yao Ming leads the Rockets with 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a game.
