RIO DE JANEIRO -- Brazilian soccer star Adriano returned on Saturday to catch the interest of the clubs from his home country, but Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan said Adriano could only be lent for the 2009 season.

Inter President Massimo Moratti ruled out the possibility of Adriano's signing with any Brazilian clubs, saying that his team would look to lend the player for 2009.

Adriano arrived to play for Sao Paulo during six months of the 2008 season. However, Inter was not happy with the results.

Adriano has not been able to see eye to eye with Inter's head coach Jose Mourinho. Mourinho is well aware of the player's drinking problems. But Adriano is reluctant to change his lifestyle.

Before the end of the 2008 season, teams in Brazil went on a frenzy in hope of landing Adriano on their teams. Flamengo was the team to show most interest.
