Qatari driver Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah won on Sunday The Troodos Rally, round three of the 2007 FIA Middle East Rally Championship, in the Troodos foothills near Cypriot capital Nicosia.

Al-Attiyah and co-driver Chris Patterson again showed their impressive feat in their Subaru Impreza WRX STi for the past two days. It was the fifth consecutive time for Al-Attiyah to win the rally.

He now dreams of repeating the triumph when returning to the Mediterranean island in October for the Cyprus Rally, he said.

Cyprus is the only country to host two rounds of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship.

Local drivers Andreas Peratikos and Charalambos Timotheou finished the Troodos Rally in second and third places respectively.

Since 2000, the Troodos Rally has provided an opportunity for local and regional talents to shine. It has a total route of 790.80km, of which 240.10km are competitive.
