BEIJING -- Chinese Zhou Yang excelled to bag the women's pole vault crown at
the IAAF World Junior Championships here on Friday.
The 18-year-old Zhou leapt over 4.30 meters to tie her personal best created
in Zhengzhou in May.
"It was a par performance. I did not bring out all my potential today," said
Zhou. "Thank you all for your support and I want to meet you here again in
Beijing Olympics."
Tina Sutej of Slovenia took the
silver in 4.25 which is a Slovenian junior record and Vicky Parnov from Australia finished third
in 4.20.
